Did you buy a TV, monitor, or notebook computer with a LCD flat panel screen between 2002 and 2006? Many Oregonians did, and if you’re one of them you may be entitled to your money back.

This opportunity is available because the Oregon Department of Justice recently reached a settlement in a lawsuit we brought against LCD screen manufacturers alleging fraud.¹ Under the terms of the settlement, Oregonians, as well as state and local government entities that purchased a television, computer monitor, or laptop with an LCD screen at any time during 2002 through 2006 may be eligible for money back. We anticipate checks for those who make claims and are determined to be eligible will be mailed in 2016.

If you think you may be eligible, after reading the legal notice online, you will need to submit a claim. The process for submitting a claim is described online at www.OregonScreenSettlement.com.

If you have questions regarding this settlement, you can also contact the Oregon Attorney General’s office at 1-877-877-9392, or the official settlement claims administrator at 1-877-940-7791.

“I am proud of the work we do every day at the Oregon Department of Justice in standing up for Oregonians and fighting fraud. You can also help prevent frauds and scams. My door is always open, so please do not hesitate to contact my office if you believe there is a scam or fraud we should know about,” Attorney General Rosenblum said.
